Gate 2010 Pattern

This year the pattern of gate exam is changed. Now it also includes aptitude section which is based on your thinking ability. There will be 10 questions of aptitude which test your thinking and reasoning ability. The pattern of gate exam for the year 2010 is divided into sub sections. These sub sections is as follows:-

> There will be 10 questions of general aptitude having a total of 15 marks, consists 15% weight age of the question paper.

> There will be a few questions on Engineering Mathematics having a total of 15 marks, consists 15% of the weight age question paper.

> The remaining 70% paper is having a technical section.

There will be no change in the syllabus for the gate 2010. You can test your aptitude skills by using various books available in the market.

Duration of Gate 2010 Examination is of 3 Hours and the question paper is a objective type having 4 alternatives. You have to choose the correct alternative and score maximum percentile in the examination. Remember there will be a negative marking in the question paper. The pattern of the gate exam 2010 is as follows:-

> Ques:- 1 to Ques:- 25

Carries 1 mark each with a total of 25 marks of the question paper and there will be a negative marking. 1/3 (One-Third marks) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

> Ques:- 26 to Ques:- 55

Carries 2 marks each with a total of 60 marks of the question paper and there will be a negative marking. 2/3 (Two-Third marks) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

> Ques:- 48 to Ques:- 51

In this section you will find out the common data questions. Each question carries 2 marks and 2/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

> Ques:- 52-53 and Ques:- 25-55

These questions will be linked answer type questions. How will you will be able to answer these questions? The answer lies below:-

-> If the first question in the linked pair is wrongly answered or is un-attempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated. The weight age of each question will be of two marks.

-> The answer to the second question of the last two pairs will depend on the answer to the first question of the pair.

-> There will be negative marks only for wrong answer to the first question of the linked answer question pair, i.e. for Ques:- 52 and Ques:- 54, 2/3 (Two-third marks) marks will be deducted for each answer. There is no negative marking for Ques:- 53 and Ques:- 55

> Ques:- 56 and Ques:- 60

These questions include the General Aptitude part, which is included from this year. It will contain 5 questions, each will contain 1 mark with a total of 5 marks and 1/3 (One-third mark) will be deducted for each wrong answer.

> Ques:- 61 to Ques:- 65

These questions include the General Aptitude part, which is included from this year. It will contain 5 questions, each will contain 2 mark with a total of 10 marks and 2/3 (Two-Third marks) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

And finally the questions paper having the code AE, AG, Bt, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI and TF will contain few questions on Engineering Mathematics with a score of 15 marks.

I want to pursue M.tech in Naval Architechture.
Please provide me all the informations of GATE 2010 and also the syllabs and question paper code of this subject.

I have already updated the relevant information on gate 2010 about its pattern and schedule soon i will update the syllabus and question paper code of other branches also.
