Now let’s check it out how new Facebook layout looks like.

New Homepage

This is the first noticeable change you see when you log on into your account. There is a complete removal of the left hand sidebar. The all links has been moved to a wider sidebar on the right hand side. The applications have been moved to two different locations in the header and to the right hand sidebar.

Search Option

The new version emphasize on search and gives you the complete freedom that you can get much more information without leaving the homepage.

The News Feed

There is no live feed; there is only Top news and recent news section in Facebook.

The Publisher

Now an improved Publisher is on the top of the home page form where he can add own status, links, photos, thoughts and more. The Publisher has been updated across the site, including your profile. So from anywhere you create content on Facebook, you will know it’s going into the stream.

New Applications Dropdown

There is a new drop-down menu where users can view all of their applications.

Removal of Social Ads

Earlier Facebook used to display social ads but in the new version there is no display of social ads on the home page but on the profile page the social ads will display. This is somehow will affect the ad campaigns that were running on the new Facebook.

Account Settings

Now it is available in a drop down menu on the top right hand corner.

Messages, Friend Requests and Notifications

This has been shifted to the left corner with a drop down navigation. This is really good for friend requests, messages and causes as we can easily respond to them.

Chat Option

Now which of your friends is online is completely shown in the left sidebar.

Design Feedback Form

A design feedback form is also included for users to provide feedback about new design.

Conclusion

The new site design is much cleaner and simplified a lot of features as compared to the previous one.

I myself have the new version and in the last I can say that it is pretty amazing

It will be great to hear from you in the comments “what you like and dislike in the new feature of Facebook”. And finally add me as your friend on Facebook.

I like the new layout – looks JUST like the mockups that I saw which were on some blogs earlier.
