10 Effective Ways to Increase Traffic on Your Blog

When you start blogging the first question which strikes in your mind is that how I can get more traffic on my blog? What should I do, so that I can attract more visitors on my blog? These types of questions are meaningless and cannot be answered by anyone in a proper manner. The only thing that matters in blogging field is that “Content is the King and Marketing is the Queen”. These words really help you in getting enormous amount of traffic if you follow it wisely.

For a newbie it is not so easy to attract more visitors to his blog because he never knows the ways how to increase the traffic to his blog. This means that a newbie will not start blogging. Is it true? No, that’s not true because a newbie will be able to increase the traffic to his blog if he follows some traditional, unique and perfect ways, then he will get more traffic to his blog in certain time period.

The dream of every blogger is to extract more traffic to his blog by anyhow, but due to some ignorance or lack of information he might not be able to achieve this. The most important thing to be noted that the “traffic on your blog totally depends on the content your blog has”. Since I am not an expert in getting more traffic but from my personal experience I have find some useful information which I would like to share with all of you. These are as follows:-

1. Register Your Blog with Search Engine

This is the basic thing which everyone should do. Now the question arises why you should do this? The answer to this question is that no one knows you and your site/blog except your dear one’s or loved ones. Whatever the content your blog has no one is available to read it. Maximum or almost all the number of visitors comes through search engine, depending on their needs. So this is the most important and basic step to follow. Again, the questions arises where to submit your blog/site to search engine. All Search Engine has their bots where you have to register/submit your site/blog. Some of the major search engines are Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

2. Submit Your Blog

Now this is again one of the major things you have to do. Why? Daily so many blogs are registered and some of them are dead. So it’s not so easy to get more traffic. To get more traffic you can register your blog/site to blog directories (also known as Blogosphere) such as Technorati, BlogCatalog, Mybloglog. These web directories help you to get traffic to your blog or in others words they are the alternatives to promote your content.

3. Make Effective use of Social Networking Sites

I have already stated that in blogging “Content is the King and Marketing is the Queen”. If you promote your content in an effective manner, then you will be able to get traffic. Now a day’s social networking sites emerged as a new platform to help you out. How? Sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Friend Feed, etc. are there to help you out. Within instant of time your content is published on such sites and people of same area of interest will promote your article in the form of tweet on twitter, share it on Facebook or they submit your articles on Digg, Stumbleupon, Del.icio.us, etc. These sites bring enormous amount of traffic to your blog if you use them in effective manner. Without marketing of content, you will not be able to attract visitors to your blog.

4. Unique Content (Such as Killer Post)

The first question arises why anyone visits your blog? What will he get if anyone comes to your blog? These are the few questions which you have to ask yourself. I have already said above “Content is the King and Marketing is the Queen”. If your blog has unique content then the visitor will visit your blog and tell others also. To extract more traffic content plays a key role in it, without having unique content you will not be able to attract anyone to your blog. You should try to write some killer post in a week so that it may attract visitors to your blog and help you in making these visitors as unique visitors.

5. Write Guest Post

As you and your blog is new, no one knows about it. Try to write some articles for popular blogs based on your niche, some of them are Mashable, Problogger, etc. These blogs have a good amount of daily readers which helps you in gaining a good attention among others.

6. Choose the Right Blogging Platform

The first question which you will ask yourself before starting blogging is “which Platform is better to start” whether it is Wordpress, Blogspot (Blogger), TypePad, etc. Because no one exactly knows which platform is better and which is not. Will it provide support or not, can I customize it or not, these type of questions and much more will be considered before starting blogging. Choosing a correct platform will help you in getting a lot of amount of traffic.

This is really one of the biggest challenges to anyone because you never know which plugin is better and which is not. Choosing a good plugin really helps you in getting a huge amount of traffic. 7. Selective on topic

This is yet one of the major question which you have to ask yourself? When you have started blogging this thing comes into your mind “what should I write and what should I not, so that I can attract more visitors day by day”. Writing on anything will not generate a traffic on your blog but instead of writing on a particular topic will generate a huge traffic and you will not be able to realize that how was this possible? This becomes possible only because you have provided one of the better places where anyone of that particular field or area of interest will get all the information on that thing without searching on the web.

8. Comment on Other Blog’s

This is one of the powerful and effective medium to boost traffic on your site. How commenting on other blog’s increase traffic on your blog? This is a big question which can be answered in simple words. Commenting on other blog increases your interaction and attends visitor’s attention on your comment and this will direct him to visit your blog and if he finds useful information on your blog then he becomes of the daily visitor of your blog. Finally, one of the important thing is to note is that “don’t comment anything useless which doesn’t sense or have no meaning” because it will result in negative effect.

9. Update it Daily

This is again one of the important things which you have to take into consideration. Most of the blog dies because they are not updated daily. Daily update will result in effective amount of traffic. You have to put at least one post/article daily so that the visitor you gained will visit your blog daily and tell others via social networking sites. As I have already specified above how Social Networking Sites helps you in gaining traffic to your site.

10. Linking of Site

Last but not the least linking of your blog with other site/blog brings you an enormous amount of traffic to your blog how? When anyone makes a search on his favorite search engine if he landed on other site/blog, then a link back to your site appears indirectly or directly. Linking of blog with others should be closely related to the subject of your website which can helps you in gaining more traffic.

Conclusion

You can drive a maximum traffic to your blog in easy manner, the essential thing required is only to update your blog regularly, put unique content and comment’s on other blog’s because “Blogging is all about feed-in and feedback system”. In simple words, “what you give you will get in return“.
